The 23rd Annual Aids Walk Portland on Oct. 11 will include 100 HIV-positive men, women and children wearing red shirts that read
"Screw Stigma!"
The Screw Stigma team for the Oct. 11 walk starting at Pioneer Square comes from Project 150+, a group dedicated to getting everybody to aceept openly HIV-positive people. Back in May, you may remember the same group
organized a clean-up on the Park Blocks with 70 out HIV-positive people.
This year's AIDS walk opens at 9 am with breakfast, registration and entertainment, and the 5K walk starts at 11 am. There's already 10,000 people expected to participate with money raised going to the
Cascade AIDS Project.
