Local Skater Wins One Contest, Wants You To Help Him Win Another

Eden Powers won the local Red Bull Manny Mania AM Series in Pioneer Square on June 26, which means he's now competing online against skaters nationwide to win up to $7000 worth of prizes, including an HD Camera and Laptop. And as with any online contest, Powers needs your help (i.e., votes) if he's going to win.

Powers, a 24-year-old full-time student at Portland Community College, says winning the contest goodies would help him in his graphic design studies at PCC.

“I would win a laptop and camera, which I'll need for school,” says Powers, who originally heard of the contest from friends who work at Exit Real World, a skate shop in Northwest Portland.

The day votes will be tallied, Sept. 30, happens to be Powers' birthday.
