Twitter, Porn and Georgetown Basketball

I labor mightily each day to keep my irrational bias for Georgetown basketball from seeping into our news coverage — an easy task from 3,000 miles away.

But that ends today with a report from the Detroit Free Press that ex-Hoya hoopster DaJuan Summers — now in the NBA with the Detroit Pistons — is engaged in a race with his friend Valerie Luxe to see who can get to 4,000 followers first on Twitter. Luxe is apparently a porn star of some renown (although as "Jeremy" on the late TV show Sports Night once insightfully observed, "How come everybody in porn is a 'star'?)

Sorry, folks. But I'm in full-fledged campaign mode. This is a race Summers and the Hoyas cannot lose.
