The local Iranian community's 10th annual
Iranian Festival is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Saturday on the Park Blocks at Portland State University.
And while there's certainly a lot of
concern among the estimated 10,000 Iranian-Americans over the
electoral turmoil in Iran, festival organizers say political activity is not planned for the event this Saturday.
"The festival is totally cultural," says Goudarz Eghtedari, one of the festival's planners. "So we try to stay away from politics."
