The local Iranian community plans to rally again in solidarity with the Iranian people during a "global day of action" planned for 1 pm this Saturday July 25 in Pioneer Courthouse Square.

Participants will link arms across Pioneer Courthouse Square to form a human chain — a demonstration that rally organizer Goudarz Eghtedari says is to show support for the "Green Movement" in Iran.

The 1 pm rally is one of 50 planned in cities worldwide. The international human rights network, United for Iran, coordinated the date for the Global Day of Action with the support of Amnesty International and Reporters without Borders.
