Free Jazz, Now with Trees.

Portland's Creative Music Guild sent us word of their FREE outdoorsy live music show this Saturday today...far to late to make it in to Wednesday's print edition of WW without aid of a time machine. But the gig, which features jazz from the Outside Music Ensemble atop bucolic Powell Butte, is worth a late notice shout-out.

For the 11th year, led by saxman Rich Halley, six of the area's top free thinking jazzers—that "outside" is a double entendre—convene under the stars to play site-specific music written for this occasion. BRETT CAMPBELL.
