Portland Police are putting the
kibosh on one rumor surrounding comedian
Dave Chappelle's impromptu performance on Pioneer Courthouse Square last night.
The cops
did not cut Chappelle's power, police spokeswoman Detective Mary Wheat told
WW this morning.
Also, police today came out with an official crowd count for the event:
2,500 fans.
A news release from the Police Bureau this morning says Chappelle's personnel
worked with police, who ensured the MAX could move through the crowd and temporarily closed off a section of Southwest Broadway.
No arrests were made, and police escorted Chappelle to his hotel after the performance, the news release says.
