The headmaster at Oregon Episcopal School has resigned
in the wake of a controversy
involving racy emails the headmaster sent to another man from his office email.
Here's what the headmaster, Matthew Hanly, released last night about 9:30 pm:
"I have made a series of bad decisions that have brought me to this moment. Where it once seemed unthinkable that I would choose to leave OES, it now has become inevitable due to my own mistakes. As a result, I have tendered my resignation to the Board of Trustees.
I apologize to those I have let down. I ask you to forgive me and, most importantly, I ask for your continued support for this extraordinary school. The school is larger than any individual and I know it will continue to thrive. I am sorry I will no longer be part of it."
