Best Wishes For Brian Grant

It may be easy for some of us Trail Blazers fans reveling in the rebirth of this year's team to consign unpleasant memories of the Jail Blazers squads from a decade ago into one convenient box that those teams were all a bunch of bad guys who couldn't win big games.

The disappointing news broken by ESPN that one player on those previous teams, Brian Grant, has Parkinson's disease at age 37 should remind people that Grant was a huge exception on those largely unlovable squads. He was a strong, effective, hard-working player and a class act for Portland from 1997 to 2000.

We'll assume all those traits will help Grant in his fight ahead.
