Sho Dozono's Bush Garden Closed Until Further Notice

Bush Garden Construction

Failed mayoral candidate Sho Dozono has lost another battle.

His Bush Garden Japanese Restaurant has closed indefinitely after 49 years. A flier posted on the restaurant's main entrance claims a loss of foot traffic is being caused by the “ongoing neighborhood construction” of a 35-story office building, “coupled with the city's on-again, off-again plans for the 10th and Yamhill Parking Garage.”

According to a Bush Garden sushi chef, who declined to give his name over the phone, the construction - currently a giant hole in the ground 20 steps from the Garden's main entrance (at SW 9th and Morrison) - means “not much future, no money…” so Dozono and his 30 person crew “just give up.”
