Watch Blazers, Try On Derby Hats, and Drink Free Beer at the Dapper Cap!
Even though I was born and raised in Virginia, I was never a little Southern lady. I was more a little Southern punk-ass. It's only now, years after leaving, that I realize: All Southern ladies are just a little punk-ass. How else to explain those hats that dotted every summer Sunday afternoon of my life, like giant straw pimples? How else to explain the popularity of said hats in the Northwest? Who knew?
The Dapper Cap(128 NW 23rd Ave.) knows that big hats are it. That's why the hat shop is hosting a Blazers-viewing, DJ-spinning, open bar and free beer party Thursday night from 5:45 pm until whenever everything runs out. Yes, you read that right. Open bar, and free beer from Widmer Bros. brewing. Plus, lots of hats.
Buying is optional, but you might want to consider the fact that the Race for the Roses is this Saturday. If you're planning on kicking it Kentucky-style, I strongly urge you to consider buying yourself a picture hat. I might also suggest bleaching your hair, squeezing into a sundress and talking really loudly about how much your husband likes to drink while you slurp mimosa after mimosa, but that's neither here nor there.
