Friday night, March 13, was Dove Lewis'
fourth annual Boutiques Unleashed,
a pets-n-human fashion show. As in, Portland personalities walk the runway with their pets, showing off doggie style (and cat style and goat style—you read right. Goat style.) and people style at the same time.
It's not as silly as it sounds.
The fashion show benefits Dove Lewis' pet loss support program. Think about it: the death of a pet may be pooh-poohed by some, but it's a serious loss that deserves grieving. Dove Lewis' drop in service is free and nationally recognized—due in part to this yearly fashion show.
And who doesn't like pet fashion? Who doesn't love a wiener dog dressed in—we shit you not—a fur coat?
Or a therapy goat dressed as a bride, complete with a blinged-out poo catcher? It was a night as adorable and ridiculously hilarious as our pets themselves—and I loved every second of it.
