Llamarama: Nigel the Pack Llama Ventures into Portland

llama

Nigel the Llama, this is everyone. Everyone, meet Nigel, a friendly pack llama from Wallowa Llamas, undoubtedly the most melodic company name that I've ever heard. Nigel will be greeting visitors to the Portland REI (1405 NW Johnson St) on Wednesday, March 11 at 7 pm, as part of a presentation that Wallowa Llamas are producing about llama packing.

Llama packing is an exceptional way to tour the wilderness. It's low-impact, sustainable, and--most importantly--Nigel can carry infinitely more gear than your dog. He might also be cuter, but that's up for debate (I have seen some of your dogs). Raz Rasmussen and Steve Backstrom from Wallowa Llamas will be showing a free slide show of Hells Canyon and Eagle Cap wilderness area in Eastern Oregon.

Wallowa Llamas have guided trips through these areas and others. They also have rent llamas and have a few special ones for sale. At the very least, you should stop by and say hi to Nigel. Look at his face! He looks like a muppet!
