Picture 1

Heading into the final week of the election for the seat representing North and Northeast Portland on the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners, candidates Loretta Smith and Karol Collymore are attracting some big-name donors.

Smith (left in the photo above) remains ahead of Collymore (on the right in the photo) in the fundraising race. Smith has pulled in $106,000 since the campaign began last March compared with Collymore's $97,000.

Smith's most notable recent hauls include $1,500 from the Portland Association of Teachers' PAC, $1,000 from local Democratic rainmaker Win McCormack, $1,000 from Northeast Portland dive bar The Standard and $5,000 from a PAC run by her boss, U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.)

Collymore's most notable recent donations include $250 from state Rep. Nick Kahl (D-Rockwood), $200 from Portland developer Bob Ball, $500 from state Rep. Tina Kotek (D-North/Northeast Portland) and $100 from Brendan Finn, city Commissioner Dan Saltzman's chief of staff.
