While the rest of Portland was hooping and hollering on the streets of Portland
, the latest queen of country music (and the former pop star wife of Nick Lachey) Jessica Simpson
sashayed her way into to downtown Portland on election night.
First off, the on-off girlfriend of Dallas Cowboy Quarterback Tony Romo made a quick stop at KUPL
where she talked about how much she hated tabloid-frenzied L.A. (her hairdresser had to get 10 stitches after getting bonked in the head by a pap), her sister's baby shower and the fact she is a fan of "voting."
After the promotion, she went to Morton's The Steakhouse for dinner
According to our sources she was with a man (not Tony Romo or her father) who carried her guitar and a female friend who quickly moved them all into the bar area to watch the TV coverage once the election was called in favor of Obama. Simpson watched CNN's election coverage for several minutes. She was obviously intrigued by the proceedings, but remained fairly neutral in expression.
But more importantly, her meal consisted of a salad of romaine lettuce with Thousand Island dressing and croutons
(off-menu); a single cut filet mignon butterflied and well done; some side dishes of macaroni-and-cheese and mashed potatoes. She had mixed berries for dessert. She enjoyed some Beaux Freres pinot noir (the winery is in Newberg), as well as some Sambuca after dinner.
