Portland Public Schools to Start Board Meetings Early

Fair warning. Beginning today, Portland Public Schools will start School Board meetings at 5:30 pm instead of 7 pm. The goal is to end the meetings earlier, too, because in past years many controversial meetings have stretched until midnight.

A planned protest of PPS's cuts to special education still will take place tonight at 501 N. Dixon St. Organizers say the rally will start at 4:30 pm.
