Economy, schmuconomy!
While it seems like every restaurant in town is up for sale, the retail scene is still going strong—at least in the category of
really cool stores that are moving to Portland.
First
WW broke the news that
Brooklyn Industries was coming to town. Then we told you about
Filson.
Now, we can confirm something we've heard whispers about for weeks:
Free People, the upscale sister brand of
Urban Outfitters, has slapped some posters over the space that once held one of the 3 Monkey store on Northwest 23rd Avenue, near Seaplane and across the street from Blake's.
Since they won't return my inquiries back at their corporate HQ in Philly, PA, all I can say is welcome to the neighborhood! It's about time Free People finally opened a Portland store.
