Economy got you down? Don't know where your next paycheck is coming from? Never fear, reality television is here to save your ass. (Hell, it worked for Project Runway's Leanne Marshall).
That's right: The Food Network is coming for you, Portland . Or at least for your cooking skills.
And, oh yeah, HGTV wants your house .
The Next Food Network Star is a competitive hunt in search of the next Raechel Ray or Bobby Flay ; each season's winner is awarded his or her own "HGTV cooking show." The application guidelines emphasize "personality that pops" and familiarity with "the basics" of cooking. Apply here . Castings Thursday October 23rd, 2008- 10am-3pm, Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront, 1401 SW Naito Parkway.
Bang For Your Buck is taping its first season now. Each episode evaluates three comparable home remodels and seeks to determine who, in fact, got the most bang per buck.
