IMG_8475Sometimes it's OK to take a bribe. Especially if it involves alcohol, chocolate and T-shirts emblazoned with the chest of a bare naked man.

Those were just a few of the "bribes" offered to the judges at the annual School & Community Reuse Action Project (SCRAP) Iron Artist event which was held on an industrial strip of Southeast 2nd Avenue Saturday.

Eight teams from across the city were given the task of creating an original work of art out of a pile of scrap materials. Prizes were given for costumes, names and most demerits (the referees were awesome). This was the second time I had a chance to judge the works of art, and although I didn't get a George Forman grill for a bribe like I did last time, I did end up going home with a bottle of ice wine.

The grand prize winners were the Pollin8ors, who won the coveted grand prize, the Cup du SCRAP.

Here are a few photos from the event the judges nicknamed "Burnt Man" (and no I didn't take a pic of the shirtless lady...what was that about?).
