Portland Medics David Drew, Jr, Tracy Maier, and R. Westlund have been charged with Misdemeanors in the 1st degree for “Presence at an Unlawful Assembly and Refusing to Leave.” Those misdemeanors carry fines up to $1,000 and 90 days in prison, if convicted.
One other medic, A. Oliver Hayes, was charged with a gross misdemeanor in the third degree of rioting. That can mean up to a year in prison, if convicted.
All four medics are out of jail. But group members contend they were “under fire from police chemical weapons, having never received an order to disperse,” and the victims of illegal police searches.
