As if this Wednesday through Saturday wasn't crazy enough, adorable Seattle FM station KEXP is rolling into town again this year, and the station just finalized its lineup for its special daytime shows at the Doug Fir, which are free and open to the public. This is a great chance to scratch a few people off your list that you can't see during the main fest because there's just too much going on, and it's also a great chance to preview some stuff you've never heard before. But show up early, because free shows get packed quick. Here's the lineup:
Thursday, September 4th
11am: Port O'Brien
1pm: Nick Jaina Band
3 pm: Oxford Collapse
Friday, September 5th
11am: Blind Pilot
1pm: Love as Laughter
3pm: Helio Sequence
Saturday, September 6th
12pm: The Muslims
2pm: Centro-Matic
4pm: Bobby Bare Jr.
Not bad at all! I talked to KEXP's Cheryl Waters on the phone last week for
WW, and she was very cool and just as geeky as we are about Northwest music. It made me really happy, and also made me look forward to seeing how Portland's own soon-to-be station,
KZME, comes together.
