The Oregon Public Utility Commission has cleared the way for third-party solar projects
after PacifiCorp had sought to clarify those projects' legality.
For the couple dozen solar projects in Oregon, the ruling means these projects may continue as formerly planned. Among the projects that will benefit is this one
in Multnomah County, and today's decision prompted county Commissioner Jeff Cogen to call the PUC ruling "a victory for solar power in Oregon, a victory for the earth and a victory for renewable energy as a cornerstone of Oregon's future economic prosperity."
Adds Jeff Bissonnette, organizing director at the Citizen's Utility Board of Oregon, "The decision is a good thing and the fact that the PUC delivered their decision in about 45 days is pretty remarkable. Usually an expedited decision is 4-6 months."
