Trailer of the Week: Encounters at the End of the World

There are few voices as warm and comforting as the Teutonic baritone of filmmaker Werner Herzog, so it seems only appropriate that he narrate his latest documentary shot in the frigid climes of Antarctica. The monastic soundtrack hints at Herr Herzog's richly philosophical cinema - he has treated a scientific research station like a place of religious devotion.

Encounters at the End of the World opens in August at Cinema 21 and is rated G. (Aaron Mesh reviewed the film before its one-night engagement at the NW Film Center in April.)
