Rebirth of a Brand: Nau 2.0 Gets Ready to Blast Off

It's true.

Nau is coming back.

According to Ian Yolles, Head of Marketing for Nau, a deal has been finalized with Santa Barbara-based Horny Toad (they are the folks behind Lizard Lounge) to purchase the bulk of the assets from Nau with the intention to relaunch Nau as a separate but very equal brand. For the last six weeks, Nau (or let's call it Nau 1.0) has been continuing their operations online to help pay off their creditors at 50 cents on the dollar and that effort will continue up to but no later than July 31. At that point of time Nau 2.0 will take over. "The plan is to introduce our fall/winter line," says Yolles. There are no plans at this time to reopen any of the exisiting Nau locales. The company will focus on e-commerce and building partnerships with select retailers. The company will maintain a much smaller staff of around 12 people who main priority will be product development and continuing to live Nau's message of sustainability and progressive business practices.
