Second time's the charm.

Naomi Pomeroy, chef/owner at Beast restaurant, exclusively told WW today that she's been chosen by Bon Appetit magazine as one of the top six female chefs in the country under 35-years-of-age.
Pomeroy is slated to do a photo shoot next week in Los Angeles, she says, and the issue is slated to go to print in September.

Pomeroy has been somewhat of a media darling of late – she's currently featured in May's Elle magazine with her Sous Chef Mika Paredes –and looks to be eclipsing single-handedly the successes she and ex-hub Michael Hebb racked up and then lost with the crumbling of their Ripe restaurant fiefdom. Nice going, girl.

Pomeroy also announced Friday that a third restaurant, also owned by Micah Camden and Dayna McErlean (the duo are part owners of adjacent Yakuza and Beast as well), will soon open at 5419 NE 30th Avenue.

D.O.C., named after the Italian quality assurance label for food and wine, is slated for a June 1 opening, serving family-style Italian dinners in the familiar fixed price format. The dining room seats 24, Pomeroy says, and “is pretty fly” with cream-colored walls, carpet, and black crystal chandeliers. Greg Perrault, a relative Portland newcomer via NYC and Napa Valley, will be at the helm as chef, and Pomeroy says that a familiar face from her Ripe days will be running the dining room which will be accessed by walking through the kitchen.
