Rome Has Burned (At Least on Portland's All-Sports Radio)

If we're all quiet, we can hear the wails of sports radio talk show host Jim Rome's "clones" throughout the Greater Portland area today in mourning over this news release below. (Of course, feel free to comment here. We're always happy to "rack" your responses)

Announces New On-Air Lineup
Popular Syndicated Show “The Dan Patrick Show”
is added to the sports talk programming

Portland, Oregon – February 28, 2008 – Radio station Sports Radio 1080AM The Fan, part of the Entercom Portland radio group (NYSE:ETM), announces a new lineup beginning Monday, March 3, 2008. ESPN's The Mike Tirico Show can now be heard live weekday mornings from 10AM –12 noon and the newly added The Dan Patrick Show can be heard from 12 noon – 3 PM. Premiere's The Jim Rome Show is removed from the line up. Morning and afternoon drive time shows ESPN's The Herd with Colin Cowherd and local show Primetime with Isaac and Big Suke remain in their respective time slots.

Sports Radio 1080AM The Fan Program Director, Dennis Glasgow comments, “This is a stellar lineup for The Fan and we are really excited to have Dan Patrick back on board. With our top-rated drive time shows and now Dan in the mid-days, The Fan will continue to grow as the top-rated sports talk station in the market.”

More recent milestones with Sports Radio 1080 The Fan include the addition of the Comcast SportsNet simulcast of Primetime with Isaac and Big Suke from 3-6 PM weekdays. The final hour of the show from 6-7 PM, the popular “Club 1080” featuring “anything guys want to talk about”, still runs live on Sports Radio 1080 The Fan.

The new line-up as of Monday, March 3rd at 6 AM is:
• The Herd with Colin Cowherd (ESPN syndicated): 6AM – 10AM
• The Mike Tirico Show (ESPN syndicated) 10AM – 12 noon
• The Dan Patrick Show (The Content Factory, syndicated):
12 noon – 3 PM
• Primetime with Isaac & Big Suke (KFXX local): 3PM –7PM
