It's always a good day when new content is updated on Daytrotter, the music blog where all your favorite bands stop by for a quick set at a studio in the middle of nowhere (aka the Midwest). Checking out the site this afternoon I stumbled upon today's post, and guess what: Fuckin A!
The Thermals stopped by the Rock Island, Ill, studios to record a Daytrotter session, joining the Shaky Hands, Laura Gibson, and Alela Diane as Portlanders featured on the blog. Best of all, Hutch Harris and co. brought out a special surprise cover of the Wipers song "Misfit." Though Harris' voice is noticeably thin, you can't deny the fun in hearing them cover this Portland punk classic. "The Wipers are Portland's greatest punk band of all time," Harris says before claiming that the Thermals aren't a punk band because they play "beardless indie."
