Have a hankering for some homemade havarti? Want to get your hands in some ricotta? Foster & Dobbs is hosting a gathering for
do-it-yourself cheese makers and anyone interested in the process. “We get a lot of calls from people looking for rennet or other cheese-making supplies,” said Luan Schooler, who owns Foster & Dobbs with her husband, Tim Wilson. Even though Schooler doesn't know of any local suppliers for home-based cheese-making, she said the information-sharing gathering could become a regular on the store's calendar. Individuals of all experience levels are welcome to the free event, and are encouraged to bring samples of their handiwork.
Foster & Dobbs, 2518 NE 15th Ave., 503-284-1157. 7:15-8:30pm Wednesday, Jan. 9. Free.
