Death Grips

[COCKED AND LOADED] If you’ve stumbled across the name Death Grips, chances are it’s not been in reference to the band’s actual music. The modernist hip-hop trio is known best lately for subversive moves, like posting its third album, No Love Deep Web, for free online, a stunt that got it dropped from Epic Records. And that LP’s cover art is a picture of producer-drummer Zach Hill’s erect cock with the album title scrawled on it with a Sharpie. At least Death Grips has the talent to back up these antics. The trio’s dark, vicious sound bears the markers of Hill’s experimentalist history and a love for electronic music’s freakier output.
