Astronautalis, Busdriver, Jel

[‘SOTA-HOP] Astronautalis is at his best when he plays furthest from the Beck comparisons he often generates. Last year’s This is Our Science doesn’t move beyond his formula of indie-rock-influenced hip-hop, but the Minnesota native’s hard-hitting beats, raw lyrical style and freestyling are what will make this show great. We could do without the airier Tegan and Sara tributes and feeble groping at John Cage (“The Most Important Track on the Album” is silent), but with Busdriver on the bill to keep things boisterous, everything should even out just fine.
