White Lung, Dead Cult, Industrial Park, DJ Ahex
2026 NE Alberta St.
[PUNK ROCK] White Lung could throw in with any of today’s de-rigueur revivals (spooky post-punk or nostalgic grunge or noisy hardcore) and rule it within minutes, but the Vancouver, B.C., quartet is so skilled at skimming each scene’s cream it’ll probably never need a movement at its back. This year’s Sorry merges the aforementioned kindred schools into a fanged punk monster bent on finding the perfect middle between blood lust and beauty, and it is spectacular. White Lung’s new, two-song 7-inch is just as wild and riveting, with insistent melodies screaming and careening above manic guitar wails that would make Greg Ginn die of envy. You might have missed White Lung when it played the Know in June. Don’t let that happen again.
