Corrosion of Conformity, YOB, Saviours

[RABID DOGS] Growing up as a wannabe skateboarder, the logo for Corrosion of Conformity—a spiky hazardous-waste logo-skull hybrid—was ubiquitous within the pages of Thrasher and Maximum Rock ’n’ Roll. But last week, I saw that logo on the back of a leather jacket being worn by notorious R&B woman beater Chris Brown. Oh, how the world has changed. Through it all, COC has remained a constant; its thrash-y, punished heart beating strong, even when dipping into sludgy blues metal. This year finds COC in fine fettle with a new self-titled album, and a renewed desire to upend the current political power structure.
