Clarinetist Robinson has been exploring the outer reaches of jazz since his first album in 1962 with Paul Motian, Henry Grimes and Kenny Barron, and later stints with the Clarinet Summit and Charlie Haden's Liberation Music Orchestra. He joins one of the city's most visionary jazz combos, featuring Blue Cranes Joe Cunningham and Reed Wallsmith, plus bassist Jon Shaw and drummer Tim DuRoche.
