Atlas and the Astronaut, Amerikan Overdose, Never Awake, Earth 2 Ashes

[INDIE VS. METAL] This rock ’n’ roll rumble is a classic coming-of-age tale for any band: four unsigned acts competing head-to-head for a recording contract with DRD Records and the ultimate title of Sonic II Champion (we hope there’s a belt involved, too). It’s basically Atlas and the Astronaut, a blistering indie-punk four-piece from across the river, against a barrage of metalheads. Also up for the title are local progressive-metal welterweights Earth to Ashes and Never Awake, plus Amerikan Overdose, an industrial-metal ensemble with face paint that would make Gene Simmons proud.
