Blakely Dadson: Viene un Cambio

RICHARD SPEER
Thursday March 21
Chambers @ 916
916 NW Flanders St.

With Chambers closing its doors at the end of this show’s run, owner Wid Chambers and director Martha Morgan brought back one of their most successful artists, Blakely Dadson, to mount their farewell show. Dadson has painted the gallery’s walls nearly every day since Viene un Cambio opened at the beginning of March. One motif in this evolving mural is a snake shedding its skin, a reference not only to 2013 as the Chinese Year of the Snake, but also to the process of molting as a metaphor for change and growth. Dadson is a talented artist, and this wall painting is a fitting end to a gallery that will be missed. Through March 23.
