[BONGWATER-DRENCHED METAL] You want some idea of just how badass North Carolina sludge-metal monsters Weedeater are? Bassist-vocalist “Dixie” Dave Collins had to halt recording of the band’s fourth album Jason...The Dragon because he accidentally shot off one of his big toes with a shotgun. If that ain’t enough to have you champing at the proverbial bit to see this trio live, dial up any one of the band’s full-lengths. The music within hints at a love of boogie rock but is overtaken with a thick cloud of heavy rock blasted out from Collins’ shredded vocals and sticky bass riffs.
