Alchemy

A rather experimental show that is supposed to appeal to people not usually interested in dance, Alchemy breaks a number of dance show norms. It’s preceded by a pre-show as the audience enters. It breaks the fourth wall. The audience sits in the round, rather than facing the performers straight-on. Produced by Northwest Dance Project’s Lindsey Matheis, it includes pieces from her and five other young Portland choreographers, including Patrick Kilbane, Rachel Slater, Jocelyn Edelstein, Jeff George and Christopher Peddecord.
