[BASS OF DEATH] It’s a commendable feat for anyone to make a musical project last 20 years, but it’s especially worth celebrating when it’s a one-man show featuring Joe Preston, aka Salty Green, one of the Pacific Northwest’s most renowned bassists. His talents have landed him a spot in legendary heavy bands like the Melvins, Earth, High on Fire and SunnO))) over the years. Thrones began as a way for Preston to continue being creative after parting ways with the Melvins, but has since become a doom-noise institution both at home and abroad.
