Kissing Party, Shaddowhouse, Lunch
2026 NE Alberta St.
[LIFE SUX, SO WHAT?] With a blase, born-in-the-’90s attitude, Kissing Party’s songs of rejection and loss are emotional without being frustrated. Poppy and quick a la early Vampire Weekend, this Denver four-piece touches upon melodramatic love affairs in an upbeat tempo. Darker but also seemingly unaffected by their sordid reality, local post-punk goths Shadowhouse play bass-driven New Wave, while Lunch ties up the "life’s a wreck" vibe while also brightening things up with driving guitar that breaks for quirky solos and expressive vocals.
