Aaron Lee Tasjan

MARK STOCK
7 pm, Sunday July 20 | Free. Through July 26.

[AMERICANA] Some things sound so weathered you can’t believe they were made in only the last few years. Such is the case with Aaron Lee Tasjan, the Ohio-born folk musician who just released his sophomore solo effort. Titled Crooked River Burning, the record masquerades as folk-rock, but the devil is in the details. Tasjan’s brittle-hearted lyrics and classic Americana structures speak to a time well before his inception. It’s nothing new, but that’s the point. Why break an age-old genre when you can flesh it out with various special guests for an entire week?
