Alt Tango Weekend

AARON SPENCER
Friday-Sunday, July 25-27, Friday July 25 | Pricing varies.

It's a weekend of Argentine tango and alternative music. Not to knock traditional tango music, but this lineup of workshops, music and tango acts tries to be a little more creative. Traditional sets, or tandas, and traditional music aren’t prohibited at these milongas (group dances), but the DJ doesn't simply push play on his playlist either. The music responds to the crowd, the goal is to push people with solid technique and expand tango as a social dance. Check alttangoweekend.com for schedule and locations.
