[A.D.D. ROCK] Yoodoo Park splits his time between Santa Cruz and San Francisco, turning out speedy, guitar-driven pop-rock as GRMLN. With the forthcoming Soon Away record, GRMLN is showing signs of maturation and a Green Day-inspired grasp on three-chord riffs and fuzzed-out melodies. Barely of drinking age, Park has clearly been dabbling in his parents’ record collection or thrift-shop music aisles for inspiration. Popular acts of the ’90s—especially those that led with their guitars, a la Dinosaur Jr. and Pavement—can be heard in GRMLN’s zippy approach.
