Mighty Mighty Bosstones

PETE COTTELL
7:30 pm, Wednesday August 13 | $25 advance, $28 day of show.
Wonder Ballroom
128 NE Russell St.

[SKA-CORE SURVIVORS] With 30 years under their suspenders, questions as to why the Mighty Mighty Bosstones are still skankin’ after all these years are irrelevant. With roots in the Boston hardcore punk scene, it stands to reason this perpetually plaid octet has stayed in business while caricature compatriots like Dance Hall Crashers went kaput. The Magic of Youth, from 2011, is not vital by any standard, but the peppier tracks will make perfect beer-line background music for skater dads waiting for the heavier deep cuts, for which you can bet your wingtips they'll start a raucous pogo pit, just like the good old days.
