DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:

[POST-PUNK GONE POP] In 2000, the Prids caused a huge stir within their first 12 months of moving to Portland, and for good reason. Their dreamy noise punk—a staccato My Bloody Valentine—was not only all the rage: It was fucking rockin’. Since then, evidenced by 2010’s Chronosynclastic, their well-worn post-punk exterior has slowly become transparent, showing a core with more pop sensibilities and all the high production value that entails. They still know how to infuse a hardcore-size dose of power with a more listener-friendly vibe, but, for better or worse, they’ve sorted out (read: removed) the noise. Though the fatalist argument sung in “Waste Our Time” gripes there is “nothin’ left for us to become,” given their legendary status and history of amazing tracks, I’m sure there’s a lot more for the Prids to become.
