The city of Portland and the Ceasefire Oregon Foundation are beginning to publicize this year's annual gun turn-in event, August 18, from 10am-2pm in the north Benton parking lot at Memorial Coliseum.Last year's annual event had lackluster results. Got unwanted firearms laying around? You can turn them in this Saturday, Dec. 18 at the annual Gun Turn-In event sponsored by Ceasefire Oregon and the City of Portland. Operable or inoperable guns will be accepted with no questions asked from 10 am to 2 pm at Memorial Coliseum's North Benton Parking Lot. The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence today released a 2009 scorecard that rates states on categories that include curbing firearms trafficking, strengthening background checks, protecting child safety, and others.
