A quick update on Friday's blog post about Veverly Campbell, who is fighting to keep her Northeast Portland home of nearly 24 years from possible foreclosure. A "bowl-athon" fundraiser this past Saturday at Hollywood Bowl raised about $2,700 for Campbell, whose street in the Boise-Eliot neighborhood was the subject of a 2007 WW cover story. Back in 2007, freelance writer Nancy Rommelmann interviewed several of her neighbors as part of a cover story she wrote chronicling the ongoing gentrification of her Portland neighborhood on Northeast Cook Street .
