Since its release last month, the six-part documentary Wild Wild Country—which chronicles the rise and fall of Oregon’s Rajneesh cult through interviews with former Rajneeshees—has gained national acclaim.

In 1984, the Rajneeshees Bused 3,000 Homeless People to Live in Their Oregon Compound. Our Reporter Was One of Them.

One morning in the fall of 1984, I arrived at WW’s offices on Southwest Stark Street to find a manila envelope tucked under the door. Inside the envelope was a typed manuscript.
