Adidas' New Skateboarding Movie Premieres in Portland, For Free

The feature-length Away Days comes to the Alberta Rose Theatre May 26 for two free screenings.

Tighten your bearings and polish your trucks—this Thursday evening, skate your way over to the Alberta Rose Theatre for the free Portland premiere of Adidas Skateboarding's first feature length film: Away Days.

Filmed over the course of three years, Away Days chronicles the international and global Adidas Skateboarding team throughout shoots in over 90 cities, including just about every major international destination— London, Tokyo and the like—you can think of.

The film captures footage from the whole Adidas Skateboarding team, including legendary professionals Dennis Busenitz, Lucas Puig and Portland's own Silas Baxter-Neal as well as new talent like the Odd Future-affiliated Nakel Smith and Miles Silvas.

Baxter-Neal, who opened his own personal skate park "The Grotto" upon returning to Portland in 2013, will be present at the Alberta Rose for the premiere. Crucially, Adidas will be providing free drinks and snacks.

Away Days will screen tomorrow, May 26, at the Alberta Rose at 7 pm and 9:15 pm. Following Away Days' global premiere, the film will be available to stream on YouTube for free for a 24 hour period on May 29. Away Days will be available for purchase through iTunes on May 30.
