Beer Hall: Belmont Station's 19th Anniversary, Feckin's Irish Craft Ale Festival and the Cider Rite of Spring

Portland beer events for the week of March 17, 2016.

There are plenty of reasons not to drink green beer this St. Patrick's Day, and most of them have nothing to do with being a snob.

Because today, there are amazing events going down all over the metro area, events which celebrate Portland's best beer institutions, breweries and, well, some Irish stuff too.

Head out on the town tonight, and avoid that dive bar with Irish Car Bomb specials. Because you should either make your own craft car bomb at home, or just trek out to the Green Dragon to get one made with Double Mountain's fantastic Irish Stout.

That, or forget the holiday and head to Belmont Station, where they will have some of the best brews that our fair region has ever produced.

Thank God you live in Portland. Just think: Somewhere in Boston, a beer nerd is crying green Budweiser tears.

Feckin's Irish Craft Ale Festival

Feckin Brewing celebrates green beer week with its inaugural Irish Craft Ale Festival. The fine folks at the Oregon Beer Awards' favorite bottle shop and beer bar of 2016 celebrate almost two decades in business this St. Patrick's Day, with special selections from Block 15, Upright and Deschutes, among others. Given the day, they should have a packed house, but that's all the more reason to join in the merry affair—especially with so many amazing beers on tap this evening. PH. Belmont Station, 4500 SE Stark St. 3 pm. Free.

Double Mountain 9th Anniversary Tap Takeover

Double Mountain brings over 20 of its best brews into town from Hood River this evening, in celebration of nine years in business. Cider Rite of Spring

A boatload of Northwest cideries tote their wares to Southwest Portland this Saturday, to celebrate the slowly progressing spring. With selections from E.Z. Monday, March 21

Belmont Station 19th Anniversary Bottle Release

In continued celebration of 19 years in business, Belmont Station releases its annual anniversary brew, this time a barrel-aged barleywine that was brewed with John Harris' Ecliptic Brewing. Given how tasty that brewery's normal barrel-aged barleywine has turned out to be, this should be a special one to throw in the beer cellar—and drink copious amounts of—this evening. PH.
