Atlantis

Mississippi Pizza has been around since way before Mississippi was cool. And arguably it's still there after Mississippi was cool, serving pizza late and putting on shows from rock 'n' roll to poetry readings to Baby Ketten Karaoke. And behind the venue, if you keep going back, is the perfectly delightful Atlantis bar, serving nautical-themed drinks in a little nook with monitors that play what's happening in the venue. With its comfy booths and a reasonable selection of board games, it's easy to spend an evening among the locals, sipping standard cocktails with cute names like the Merman Hatan ($8, a Manhattan), or the Dirty Mermaid ($7, a dirty martini).

Entertainment: Bingo, kids shows, rock 'n' roll and karaoke in the venue, board games at the table.

3552 N Mississippi Ave., 503-288-3231, mississippipizza.com. 5 pm-midnight Sunday-Monday and Wednesday-Thursday, 5 pm-1 am Tuesday and Friday-Saturday.
